Clinical commentary 臨床

Mantis egg cases are the tradition's standing remedy for a bladder that will not hold, and here they lead a formula built entirely on binding and warming — antler, oyster shell, halloysite. The one unexpected member is magnolia bark, which moves rather than binds: without it, the tradition held, a formula this astringent would simply lock the abdomen up. A small piece of design sense worth noticing. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
