Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治大腸實熱, 臍腹痛, 腹脹不通. 生地黃二錢, 赤茯苓ㆍ芒硝各一錢, 陳皮ㆍ竹茹ㆍ黃芩ㆍ梔子ㆍ黃栢各五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 薑三片, 棗二枚, 水煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats replete heat of the large intestine, with pain around the navel and abdominal distension that does not pass. Fresh rehmannia 2 don; red poria and mirabilite 1 don each; tangerine peel, bamboo shavings, scutellaria, gardenia and phellodendron 5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, and decoct in water with 3 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Daejang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

White is the lung's colour and the large intestine is the lung's bowel, so 瀉白 drains both — the Lung chapter's Sabaek-san is the powder for the viscus, and this is the decoction for the bowel.
