Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治脚氣上攻, 昏眩喘促. 烏藥一錢, 茯神ㆍ人參ㆍ白朮ㆍ川芎ㆍ當歸ㆍ木瓜ㆍ白芷ㆍ五味子ㆍ紫蘇葉各七分, 甘草三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 薑五片ㆍ棗二枚, 煎服. 《三因》

Translation

Treats leg qi attacking upward, with clouded dizziness and hurried panting. Lindera 1 don; hostwood poria, ginseng, white atractylodes, cnidium, Korean angelica, chaenomeles, angelica dahurica, schisandra, and perilla leaf, 7 fun each; licorice 3 fun. Cut the above, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct and take. — Samin 三因 (Donguibogam · Jok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The gentlest of the emergency formulas, and the only one that supplements. Lindera leads to level the counterflowing Qi, but ginseng, atractylodes, angelica, and hostwood poria are all in it — because the presentation here is clouding and dizziness rather than a bound bowel, which the chapter reads as the Qi having deserted upward rather than dammed below. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
