Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治鼻不聞香臭, 目中溜火, 陰冷足痿. 當歸身一錢半, 黃芪ㆍ蒼朮ㆍ升麻ㆍ知母ㆍ柴胡ㆍ羌活各一錢, 人參ㆍ防風ㆍ白芷ㆍ黃栢ㆍ澤瀉ㆍ甘草各五分, 陳皮ㆍ靑皮ㆍ黃連ㆍ木香各三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats a nose that does not smell scent or stench, with fire running in the eyes, cold in the genitals and wilting legs. Angelica body 1 don 5 pun; astragalus, atractylodes lancea, cimicifuga, anemarrhena, bupleurum and notopterygium 1 don each; ginseng, saposhnikovia, angelica dahurica, phellodendron, alisma, licorice 5 pun each; tangerine peel, green tangerine peel, coptis and costus 3 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Seventeen medicinals for a patient whose nose is only one of their complaints — fire in the eyes above, cold and weakness below.
