五汁玉泉丸

Paste-pill of the five juices: human milk, cow's milk, sugarcane juice (sugar substituting if unavailable), pear juice, and lotus-root juice are simmered with 1.5 geun of honey into a thin paste; the twelve powdered medicinals are blended in and simmered to five-to-seven risings. Take five teaspoons in thin rice water, two to three times daily. Avoid acrid, hot foods.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治消渴. 黃連ㆍ乾葛ㆍ天花粉ㆍ知母ㆍ麥門冬ㆍ五味子ㆍ人參ㆍ生地黃ㆍ烏梅肉ㆍ蓮肉ㆍ當歸ㆍ甘草 各一兩. 右爲末, 另取人乳汁ㆍ牛乳汁ㆍ甘蔗汁(無則用砂糖)ㆍ梨汁ㆍ藕汁, 先將各汁入蜜一斤半, 煎成稀膏, 後將各藥末和前膏, 熬五七沸, 每取五茶匙, 米飮調下, 日二三. 忌辛熱之物. 《回春》

Translation

Treats wasting-thirst. Coptis, kudzu root, trichosanthes root, anemarrhena, ophiopogon, schisandra, ginseng, raw rehmannia, mume flesh, lotus seed, Korean angelica, and licorice, 1 nyang each. Powder the above. Separately take human milk, cow's milk, sugarcane juice (sugar substituting if unavailable), pear juice, and lotus-root juice; first simmer the juices with 1.5 geun of honey into a thin paste, then blend in the powdered medicinals and simmer to five-to-seven risings.
