Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治惡阻. 靑竹茹ㆍ麥門冬各三錢, 前胡二錢, 橘皮一錢, 蘆根半握. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《聖惠》

Translation

Treats malign obstruction. Green bamboo shavings and ophiopogon, 3 don each; hogfennel 2 don; tangerine peel 1 don; reed root, half a handful. Cut the above, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Seonghye 聖惠 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The cool counterpart to Banhabokryeong-tang — no pinellia, no warming herbs, just bamboo shavings and ophiopogon with a half-handful of fresh reed root. For the pregnant patient whose nausea comes with heat and dryness rather than with phlegm and heaviness, which is the fork the chapter draws through the whole complaint.
