Translation

Treats spontaneous sweating from qi vacuity. Astragalus (honey-fried) and aconite (blast-fried) 2 don 5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, and decoct in water with 3 slices of ginger. — Jesaeng 濟生 (Donguibogam · Jinaek)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Sambu-tang with astragalus in place of ginseng: ginseng for the qi within, astragalus for the defence at the surface. The Jesaeng prints the three — ginseng, astragalus and cinnamon each with aconite — as one set, and the chapter sorts sweating by which one it needs. **Contains aconite, which is toxic.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
