Translation

Gypsum 2.5 don; anemarrhena 1 don; ginseng and phellodendron, 7 fun each; scrophularia and licorice, 5 fun each; schisandra 10 grains. Cut the above, make one packet, add 100 grains of polished rice, decoct in water and take. — Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Sogal)

Clinical commentary 臨床

White Tiger rebuilt for the wasting-thirst patient who is still eating well — the sign Dongyuan used to divide the disease at its late stage. Gypsum and anemarrhena take down the blaze; ginseng, scrophularia, and schisandra hold what the blaze is spending; and the hundred grains of rice in the pot protect a stomach about to receive a great deal of cold medicine. Phellodendron is the addition that marks it as a wasting-thirst formula rather than a fever one. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
