Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

一名阿膠散. 治肺虛. 阿膠珠二錢, 鼠粘子ㆍ糯米(炒) 各一錢二分, 馬兜鈴(炒) 七分, 甘草(炒) 五分, 杏仁(麩炒) 九箇. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. <span class='sochu'>一作秫米</span> 《錢乙》

Translation

Also called Ass-Hide Glue Powder. Treats lung vacuity. Ass-hide glue beads 2 don; burdock seed and glutinous rice (stir-fried) 1 don 2 pun each; aristolochia fruit (stir-fried) 7 pun; licorice (stir-fried) 5 pun; apricot kernel (bran-fried) nine. Clinical commentary 臨床

Qian Yi's Agyo-san — the tradition's formula for a child's dry cough that has gone on long, and the glue is the point: it moistens a lung that has dried out. Rice in a medicine is for the spleen that feeds the lung, on the Ojangyukbu chapter's earth-engenders-metal. **Aristolochia contains aristolochic acid, which is nephrotoxic and carcinogenic; it is banned in most jurisdictions.
